Justin Gentleman

Director

Justin is a surveyor with over 24 years’ experience in residential and mixed-use development, bringing a detailed understanding of planning, engineering, construction and contracts management.

His experience enables a solution-led approach to development, particularly on sites that require careful coordination of technical, planning and commercial considerations.
Justin was a co-founder and former part owner of Captiva Homes, widely regarded as one of the Isle of Wight’s leading private housebuilders. Over a 15-year period, he played an instrumental role in growing the business from smaller flatted schemes to delivering up to 50 homes per year.

In 2021, Justin sold his interest in Captiva Homes to establish Foreland Homes, with a focus on smaller, high-quality developments. Justin enjoys being closely involved in all aspects of a development, ensuring a consistent focus on quality in design and construction, whilst always innovating and expanding his knowledge base.

Dave Slater

Site Manager

Dave is an accomplished and highly experienced Construction Site Manager with over 40 years’ experience delivering residential and commercial projects.

Prior to joining Foreland Homes in 2022, Dave spent 23 years as a Site Manager with Stoneham Construction, where he worked across a wide range of residential and commercial projects. This included the delivery of 86 new-build homes at West Acre Park in Ryde for Captiva Homes; just one of many projects he has worked on together with Justin, as they enjoy a long-established working relationship.

Earlier in his career, Dave worked with John Peck Construction, where he first took on the role of Site Manager, contributing to the delivery of major projects in partnership with Willmott Dixon, including local schools and leisure centres.

Dave’s expertise covers all aspects of site management, including project planning, resource allocation, subcontractor coordination, health and safety compliance and stakeholder communication.

He is known for his practical approach, strong leadership and ability to manage complex construction challenges.

Rebecca Ball

PA to Director

Rebecca joined Foreland Homes in April 2024, bringing over 18 years’ experience within the property industry.

Her role spans both operational and project-based responsibilities, supporting the delivery of developments from early planning stages through to completion. This includes involvement in planning applications, project coordination, materials procurement, and the implementation of marketing and sales platforms, including website and social media presence.

Since joining, Rebecca has played a key role in the planning and preparation of current and upcoming developments, helping to ensure projects are well-managed, coordinated and effectively presented.

Prior to Foreland Homes, Rebecca spent five years at Captiva Homes working closely with Justin, where she developed a detailed understanding of the new homes development process. Her role evolved to support a broad range of functions across the business, from project coordination to sales and marketing support.

Earlier in her career, Rebecca spent 12 years with Hose Rhodes Dickson, the Isle of Wight’s largest independent estate agent, providing valuable insight into the residential sales process and buyer journey.

Rebecca is known for her attention to detail, organisational strength and ability to support efficient, well-managed project delivery.
